John Street Beverage
John Street Beverages is a family-run luxury beverage business supplying cafés, hotels and offices across the UK with coffee, tea, and sundries. Their trade customers used to order by phone and email. We designed and built them a bespoke ordering platform: customers log in, see the range and prices agreed with them, and can pay online, while their orders go directly to the Mintsoft warehouse for 3PL fulfilment.
The Nitty Gritty

What we did for John Street Beverage
Give each customer their own products, prices and ordering rules.
Keep products and customer pricing connected to Sage.
Send orders to Mintsoft, with stock levels and tracking synced back.
Let customers pay online and see which orders use credit terms.
Set delivery thresholds, free allowances and premium options per customer.
Bring customers back with reminders for missed orders and abandoned baskets.

A café and a hotel buy differently, so the platform gives each customer their own shop. When they log in, they see the products they can order, the ones they must order and any special products listed only for them, at the prices John Street agreed with them. John Street's team sets all of this per customer from one admin, without a developer.
John Street already kept their prices and accounts in Sage, so we built the platform around it instead of handing the team a second price list to maintain. We import customer pricing and products, and the team exports back in to Sage.
The platform sends each order to Mintsoft, the fulfilment system that picks, packs and ships it, so no order waits in an inbox. Mintsoft sends stock levels back, so customers can't order what's off the shelf, and passes tracking through to the customer's order page once a delivery leaves.
Customers can pay by card through Stripe as soon as they place an order, or later from a link in their confirmation email. Customers and John Street's staff can both see at a glance which orders are paid, and which are subject to credit terms.
We priced delivery the way John Street runs it. Standard delivery is free above a spend threshold, which the team can set per customer, up to a weekly allowance of free deliveries that they can lift for chosen accounts. Premium delivery services sit alongside, and orders placed by 1pm go out the same day.
A trade customer who stops ordering is easy to lose without noticing. The platform emails customers who haven't ordered for a while, and nudges anyone who left a basket half-built. When a customer phones for help, John Street's staff can log in as them and see their screen as they see it.
We designed the platform around John Street's luxury feel: dark espresso and amber tones with serif headings. We built it as a progressive web app, so customers add it to their phone's home screen and reorder in a few taps. Under the hood sits a Symfony and API Platform backend with a React front end, and we keep developing it with John Street.
