An especially fun brand development project for Find Me Keep Me.
Find Me Keep Me is an Arts Council funded Creative Peterborough event which looks like it’s going to be an excellent way to give local artists some exposure while also providing residents with some completely free original artwork for their homes and offices.
The idea is based on the international phenomenon known as Free Art Friday, where people all over the world leave pieces of original art in the streets for people to discover and take home. To see Peterborough jumping on this crafty bandwagon and giving this a go is a breath of fresh air and we were over the moon to be asked to work on the brand.
I came up with the logo concept after seeing a magpie, on a roundabout in my lunch break (honest, we do sometimes leave the office), and remembering the way they decorate their nests and “woo” potential mates with shiny discarded objects they find lying around. The diamond brand device will be used elsewhere during the event, from stencils on boxes of goodies, to diamond shaped tags on each piece of artwork.
Creative Peterborough were delighted with the results and we especially can’t wait to see the high quality, spot varnished flyers appear all over the city.
Put March 30th in your calenders NOW, if you want to grab yourself some entirely cost-free artwork for your home or office. With 52 artists across many disciplines, including musicians and poets, you’re guaranteed to hear, read, or find something you love. And it’ll be great fun running around the city centre collecting lovingly crafted loot!
I would like to thank Mr Magpie for the flash of inspiration! Up until that point… I was a bit stuck!
